You need to remember that affiliate programs promoted by individuals work very like pyramid marketing schemes! The individual referring you gets a cut of your profits, their referrer gets their cut etc, so the lower they are on the pyramid the less you get. So you need to be at the top to make any serious cash.
Basically any program that is being advertised extensively or heavily promoted means you will enter right at the bottom and will be lucky to get 5% of your actual earnings.

Oscar oddsmakers have "The Hurt Locker" and "Avatar" in a virtual dead heat for best picture. So it's a sure bet that one of them will win on Sunday, right? Not necessarily.Voting for best picture – and tabulating those votes – isn't a simple case of majority rule. For one thing, with 10 nominees this year, it's more likely than ever that no film will receive 50 percent-plus-one of the vote: If "Avatar" and "Hurt Locker" are as close as believed, even if the other eight nominees combined drew, say, just 15 percent of the votes, that likely would be enough to keep either of the favorites from reaching 50 percent.
In the past, that wouldn't have mattered: the top vote-getter would take the trophy, end of story.
But this year, the Academy changed the script. When it expanded the best picture category from five nominees to 10, it also changed the voting system from a plurality (most votes wins) to something that sounds like a communicable disease – STV. It actually stands for the Single Transferable Vote system, and it's also known as Instant Runoff, Preferential Voting or Alternative Voting.Basically, instead of just selecting a favorite, each voter ranks all 10 nominees. The ballots are separated into 10 groups: those with "Avatar" No. 1 in one group, those with "Hurt Locker" as the top pick in another, and so forth. Then, if no film has a majority of No. 1 votes, the system goes to work.Let's say, for argument's sake, that "A Serious Man" receives the fewest No. 1 votes. (Sorry, Joel and Ethan.) That film would be knocked out, and the ballots in that pile would be redistributed among the remaining nominees, based on those ballots' second choices. If that doesn't produce a film with a majority, the process is repeated with the No. 9 movie, and so forth.

Some people see this system as favoring "Hurt Locker." They reason is that even people who didn't love the war drama respect it as a well-made film, while people who disliked "Avatar" really hated it, because they disagree with one of its perceived messages, or they just don't think a special-effects-heavy film should win best picture. So while many people who don't rate "Hurt Locker" first might put it second or third, voters who don't pick "Avatar" to win might rank it at or near the bottom. See the problem with handicapping a 10-nominee race under these rules? You have to predict not only voters' first choices, but how strategic they'll be filling out the rest of the ballot. I think the system could open the door for a film that, while not many think of it as a best picture, just about everyone loved – a film like "Up." By the way, you may not have heard of this system before, but it's been around a while. In fact, the Academy has long used it to choose the best picture nominees. It's also gaining a foothold in politics: it's been used or is set to be used in some 15 cities and states, including Memphis, Minneapolis, San Francisco, and Burlington, Vermont, as well as in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and other countries. Supporters say it eliminates the expense of runoff elections, and ensures the winner has a mandate from a majority.

Hopefully, the people who made the Cleankeys have solved this problem, but I think that their goal was to make a computer keyboard that would be easily cleanable.
All you need to do is just wipe it down like you would a window. Not only is this a computer for all germphobics, but for most offices where computer keyboards are shared amongst employees. The cleankeys have a numeric keypad, and what looks like a circular touchpad in its lower right hand corner.
I'd rather not beat a dead horse on whether another provider like T-Mobile or Verizon will get the iPhone -- that's complete speculation and folks are either in the yes camp or no camp and the subject of too many other threads.

So beyond a 64GB iPhone, what else can we expect? What else do you hope for (within the realm of reason)?

Will the folks in Cupertino do a refresh of the iPhone's form factor? Will the new version be taller or thinner?
Given last fall's debut of the Motorola Droid and yesterday's debut of Google's Nexus One, how should Apple one-up these phones?

I'm a bit disappointed that there hasn't been much discussion lately about the next iteration of the iPhone on the boards. Yes, there's been talk about capacity bumps, but I haven't seen many people recently talking about what we can see this summer.

I have had a reoccuring problem with my ipod touch losing the music library after i download a podcast or anything on itunes. It does not happen everytime i download one, but atleast once a month. I cannot see or listen to any of my synced music, but all of the downloaded songs and podcasts are there.

To fix it I have just been syncing and it restores my library. Just wondering if it is a common problem or if there is something i can do to fix it, because it can be a pain especially when I am on the road and away from my PC.

i recently got rid of vista because i hated it it was driving me mad and i now have xp. before i changed i copied my itunes folder to an external hard drive. i didnt use any export tools. just copy and pasted the itunes folder from the my music folder.

i have now copied that folder back to the default location for itunes and it loaded the library album art number of plays all perfectly. the song lists also loaded but the songs dont work.

when i click a song it asks be to show where the file is once i do that the song loads. why is it doing this and is there a way i can do 2000 songs at once rather than showing each file where its stored (which is the default location just like it was on the old computer)

to put it short. how do i show itunes where all my media is stored because it doesnt seem to read my mp3s that are being stored in the default location unless i show itunes they are there. doing this 1 by 1 is not an option as 2k mp3s will take hours
