Napster and Ringtones

Napster plans to enter the mobile phone market, next year, by launching a service piggy backed on the mobile content company Dwango Mobile.

The deal with Dwango will be the formation of Napster Mobile and will initially sell ringtones but Napster Mobile is speculated to sell music downloads when the there is sufficient bandwidth.

The more ringtone buyers that purchase through the Napster branded service, the greater number of points they will receive. The points can then be used to lower the price on PC or music players. The complete details were not revealed.
