Apple is planning to aggressively market its digital music player in Korea where competitorsÕ iRiver and Samsung currently dominate.
Although the iPod has a 52 percent market share globally and 65 percent share in the US, KoreaÕs market is a slightly different story. KoreaÕs digital music player market is dominated (97 percent) with flash-based players, which Apple currently does not have in its line of digital music players.
Tuesday say the launch of the iPod photo and the U2 iPod in Korea by CEO Sohn Hyung-man. Hyung-man stated that Apple plans to increase market share by 20-fold through Òaggressive marketing campaigns.Ó
