Creative starts War

Creative has declared that is has started an MP3 war and Apple with their iPod is their first target.

Creative CEO Sim Wong Hoo announced, in Singapore this week, that his company is going to spend a lot of money to out market the iPod and any other digital music player that stands in the way. Creative has pledged to spend $100 million on marketing to upset the iPod.

Sim said Creative is looking to take 40 per cent of the worldwide digital music player market in 2005, a very ambitious goal considering it was at a mere ten percent and the iPod stood at 17 percent during the fiscal quarter three.

Creative will also be very challenged as it is more then just AppleÕs advertising that they must beat. There are even more advertising dollars spent by companies that make products for the iPod that directly also market the iPod.
